I go to the Shay occasionally, normally on a Tuesday night if Dale either have no game or are playing a long way from home. Just a short bus ride from Elland and it costs me nowt with my pass.
Talking of fees received for home reared players, there is a school of thought which says that we didn’t do badly from the sale of Luke Matheson but undersold the likes of Aaron Morley, Andy Cannon and Jamie Allen? |

I was always more or less reconciled to this happening, both by observing what has happened at other clubs, and by listening to George Delves remarks at the last Fans Forum.
Was pretty much inevitable. Sad news but the likes of Huddersfield operate in a similar way and concentrate on signing 16 year olds from other Academies so all is not completely lost. |

That was a great Littleborough team that Chris and Gar Hunter played in.
Always a top pro opening the bowling and lads like Miskella and Hernon.
I had a short spell at Milnrow and those derby matches were something else.

Lancashire are changing from a cricket club whose ground staged the odd gig to a concert venue with a cricket club bolted onto the side.
Groaning under the weight of debt and the playing side is suffering as a result. |

The CLL was a much more condensed league in those days and you could get to most grounds on the bus although the Oldham clubs could be a problem.
When I was at junior school we used to live next to Jack Hunter in Balderstone and he used to bowl at us in the street sometimes.
There were some great pros in the CLL around that time like Sir Frank Worrell. |
