Burnley v Rochdale EFL Cup 16:43 - Sep 6 with 35298 views100notout

Have I missed it or has the date for this fixture not yet been announced?

Seems strange that nothing has been sorted yet.

My season card last season had the same number as my son’s, this year they corrected it. Whichever way, if you want to sit together at Turf Moor, would recommend buying over the phone/at the club.

We bought multiple tickets today but 1 person took the season cards down to the ticket office to purchase them all.

The lessons that will have been learnt around the online ticketing system and how reserved seating works need to be heeded for future ticket sales. The club did their best but they needed to have answers for variables and a online system that allowed people to purchase their tickets as a group when season ticket holders.
As fans we need to try and help out too.

Come on Norden. The club is damned if they do and damned if they don't. They stuck to a commitment to give season ticket holders first chance. They didn't all buy. If they had, there would be few tickets available today. If they had offered all season card holders more than 1 ticket there was a risk they would run out of seats. The fact they are lifting restrictions means that the season card holders took less than expected.....which gives everybody else a good chance. No promises broken and everybody has had a chance.

As for the ticketing system.....if we have bought a generic system we have to live with its limitations. The club will be forgiven if they use all the benefits of the new system to start some proper marketing to drive up attendances. If they don't, it will be a lost opportunity.

"They didn't all buy" you're damn right there and they never would have done either, for a Tuesday night game away that was never an option, the initial plan for 1 per person was as silly then as it is now, another needless initial idea when they go on "general sale" to limit it to 1 per person, that was never a good option either.

But had they put a limit of 2 per season ticket holder then potentially some fans might have missed out on getting one. As has been said very much a case of 'damned if the do or don't'.

Which is why we need to look at a set ticketing structure that everyone is aware of. Rather than us all pointing out what hasn’t worked, are there solutions that can be utilised?

What route should be followed to ensure all season ticket holders get priority and how that can be managed with open sale in mind? List it here and it’ll be taken forward.

Note: having a priority window does not impact anything as it can be as short/long as they want. Every club has it. If season ticket holders wish to wait to go with a non-season ticket holder, they can. Their choice on the priority.

Any households that have duplicate ID numbers on their season cards to be issued with a unique number for purchasing tickets during any priority window.

There's always a chance fans will miss out look at Harrogate away.

Season ticket holders are supposed to get priority that's part of the perks of buying one, the perk doesn't however guarantee a ticket. Could have easily been 2 per season ticket holder on a first come basis. After that window goes on open sale at 2/4 per person depending on how well they'd sold and if there were any left.

Maybe a little acceptance that we probably wouldnt take a larger away following on a Tuesday night than we regularly achieve at home for a Sat fixture, a 2 per Season Card holder as a priority period wouldn't have been a bad start.

Then once on "general sale" again no need to put an inital 1 per person limit either, it was said at the time it was over the top and then as predicted all restrictions would be lifted as usual, it was no real surprise thats exactly how it played out

But when there’s a priority period for Season Card holders it’s can be whatever level is appropriate for the amount of tickets available to ensure those with one get the chance (Basic maths meant this had to be one per SC holder on this occasion). See the aforementioned point that if they want to wait, they can do so to buy more. At no stage should a Season Card holder miss out if they want to go and there are enough tickets, a priority window ensures this. All part of a clear, consistent plan.

The club tried something, they can learn from it with fan input taken on board. The biggest problem to arise from this is that the online ticketing system doesn’t allow SC holders to buy tickets together when it’s allocated seating at away grounds. That needs sorting. If not all future priority windows will have to be over the phone/at the office purchases, although this is not ideal, we all know where we stand. Clear, consistent plan, with no need for debates as people then have a choice.

That’s unfair on non-SC holders though. The SC is there to benefit the person purchasing, not their mates/family. Of course, if the allocation is large enough, then it could be more than one.

If you want to wait for open sale, a SC holder can do so. The priority window is for the person with the card.

Think we get an allocation of 1300 at Salford, imagine we are still winning by the time that rolls around, then think of the debate. The system needs to remain the same.

The system doesn't need to remain that same, it needs to be flexible.

A system can surely be based more on who the opponent is, location, form, allocation size, day of the week for the fixture, etc all factors to be considered and could/should be more game specific.

The ticket sales for the Burnley game have been over complicated, knowing full well all the restrictions would be thrown out the window, common sense would have seen Season Card holders given priority(rightly so) to buy 2 tickets per person, even more so when the club must know full well there's problems with different cards from the same household all being put on the same number, it seems.

With an allocation for Salford being 1300, you base the ticket restrictions accordingly, its not Salford we're talking about its Burnley with an allocation nearly double and its a cup match.

Exactly my point.

When a season card priority window is required, the system is in place. The club decide this based on the game and number of tickets available. Fans may disagree, as on this occasion, but we all know where we stand. The only complicated bit was caused by not having that system in place when reserved seating and an online system which couldn’t deal with it was thrown into the mix. Create an infrastructure to work within instead of reacting each time.

And if some thought this game wouldn’t sell out to SC holders, it doesn’t matter to them anyway as they’d just wait for open sale - which has been said. At least twice.

Can I just ask, did you get a ticket before today or during today?

Picked my ticket up.

Seats hadn't been allocated yet.

Picked up my single ticket (sc holder) bought an additional ticket. Both sat together. No problems.

Although I should have requested a higher row. She cracked open a new pack of tickets while waiting. Row Z Iwould assume is ground level.
