Burnley v Rochdale EFL Cup 16:43 - Sep 6 with 35301 views100notout

Have I missed it or has the date for this fixture not yet been announced?

Seems strange that nothing has been sorted yet.

There's no way it will be unreserved if half the stand capacity is 2354 - our area will be full. It would be bedlam.

It will be similarly chaotic if parents can’t buy their kids’ tickets with theirs. Hence the enquiry.

I expect the allocation will sell out very quickly hopefully. This will lead to Burnley releasing more tickets for away fans

I doubt it James. The rules require a home club to provide 10% of the allocated capacity to the away team. Burnley have exceeded the 10% already. Priced at £10 max, the game has been priced to sell out. Burnley have sold most of their home allocation in the stand where dale fans are housed already.

Yes there are multiple issues with these types of games when trying to buy tickets together. The only way for non season tickets holders to sit with season ticket holders is wait till Monday and queue up together. You couldn't even buy multiple tickets online together as it is 1 per person.

A generous allocation then that is good of them, I'm looking forward to the game.

Unless there is some reason connected to season tickets why Burnley have only given us half of the Cricket Field Stand, I don't understand why they haven't allocated all of it to Dale fans.

Many other clubs change seating policies for cup ties and Turf Moor clearly has the capacity to house the home fans in the other three stands, as the game will be nowhere near a sell-out.

Why? Look at Burnley's recent home crowds in cup football:

Jan 20 v Norwich (FA Cup): 8071
Jan 20 v Peterborough (FA Cup): 8043
Aug 19 v Sunderland (Carabao Cup): 7445
Jan 19 v Barnsley (FA Cup): 11053
Sep 17 v Leeds (Carabao Cup): 11799

Take away fans off those attendances and The Clarets are hardly turning up in their droves, even less so against League 2 opposition.

When looking at the seating plan it would make more sense to maybe give us that full stand behind the net rather than segregated like they do for their league games, as you said there's thousands of empty seats around the ground either way

We aren't going to take 4000-5000 fans though. 2350 is probably about right for an away game on a Tuesday night at Burnley - I'd rather we sold our allocation than have loads of empty seats.

I agree, we probably aren't, but it would help alleviate some of the issues highlighted earlier.

I called into the ticket office this morning while passing and apparently the tickets already "sold" haven't been purchased, said it was some computer error.

I'd be checking with the club though if it's already come out of anyones account etc

As I said previously, I bought 4 tickets when the link was on the official site. I have been charged for all 4 tickets, the money has gone from my account into the account of RAFC and I have received no refund.

I'd call that a sale and purchase.

So much for it not being a 'live' link. Someone has seriously cocked-up.

The atmosphere would be better with a sold-out allocation and it's great for you if you have a ticket, but it doesn't make any sense for a Dale fan to not be able to go and sit in the Dale end because we've sold out an allocation that's too small in a split stand when there is likely to be 5,000 to 10,000 empty seats elsewhere in the ground.

I'd rather 3,000 Dale fans and 2,000 empty seats than 2,500 Dale fans in a sold out allocation while 500 others sit at home gutted to have missed out!

Tangled up in blue.

That's rubbish, and unprofessional, seems the club haven't learnt anything from ticket cock ups v Rushden and Diamonds and Stockport in the past. Why can't you choose your seat? So you could be sat on the front row near the corner flag. I presume online purchasers can choose a seat?

On the link on Burnley's site for tickets in the home end. You can purchase six tickets and select your seats.

In the past, before online ticketing, you’d go down to the ticket office for away tickets and get what you’re given. Unless Burnley send a seating plan for Dale to use, it wouldn’t be possible for fans to choose them either. Not everything is in the home club’s control, this may also be the case in the Premier League.

Went down at lunch to buy tickets together and we got what we were given and the service was excellent. Could improvements be made? Of course, and it was good to see the club create a priority window for SC holders after not doing so for a while. Would suggest contacting the Trust so their board rep can take ideas forward.

It's not difficult, there's a seating plan on Burnley's site for the away end. 12 blocks, approx 200 seats in each block going off our allocation. No reason you can't choose what block you'd like to sit in. It's just a little more effort.

Online ticketing isn't working properly.

On the ticket splash screen it says 'enter account number'. Its not clear what this refers to, I'm guessing this is the barcode of the season card number? However it doesn't accept my barcode..
To bypass this problem I entered '1' Into the field which gave access to buy a ticket. This must be a test data. I've entered all my details though and removed a ticket testers email address putting in my own and received confirmation of the purchase.

Needs sorting and proper user acceptance testing before release to the public.

I’m mates with quite a few Burnley fans who go home and away. Most of them sit in the cricket field stand as it’s where the majority of the atmosphere is generated. A lot used to sit in the James Hargreaves lower tier but have moved into the cricket. I remember being at Burnley vs Leeds in 2010 and Leeds had the entirety of the cricket and you couldn’t even hear the Burnley fans. Long story short, I don’t think the Burnley fans would be happy if they couldn’t go in the cricket. Especially given we haven’t played these Dingles in a competitive match for a generation.

The blocks on the plan are:

17 18 19 20
09 10 11 12
01 02 03 04

01 to 04 being pitchside.
If they've started from 01 we've sold 6 blocks already.
