Too inconsistent, blows hot & cold, unplayable : Plymouth would love to have Jordon Garrick back
Monday, 9th May 2022 18:41 by @Cornish67David

It’s definitely of great credit to Jordon Garrick that Plymouth boss Steven Schumacher speaks highly of his season long loan at Home Park after they just missed out on a league one play off spot.

Swansea City's Garrick who is twenty four in July made fifty appearances for the Pilgrims, with twenty five of them starts, and he scored seven goals. Steven Schumacher analysed his loan players today and was quick to praise Garrick now he has returned to the Swansea.com stadium. And it seems he could form a part of his plans for the coming season. "And then Broomy and Jordon, who have been here all season, have loved it. They have been part of the group. They didn't feel like a loan player. They felt like our players. Sometimes that's not easy. Straight away they settled in, they both enjoyed the area, they both would love to come back. And, again, I would love to work with them in the future. Whether that's going to happen immediately, we will have to wait and see."

Schumacher added that he thought all four loan signings had improved the Argyle squad because they were 'good footballers'. He finished by saying "We will have conversations in the next couple of weeks," added the Pilgrims' boss. "We have got targets in their positions as well as them. If we feel that they are the best names then we will go for it. If we feel as though there is better out there then we will look at that option."

That’s potentially good news for the swans who may again loan Garrick out again, however Plymouth fans are not so sure.

THE GOAST said “Garrick is unplayable on his day. Young players often blow hot and cold”

PL4 said “I'd take Broom, not sure we can afford him though. Garrick, no thanks - showed promise but far too inconsistent, there must be better out there”

JOSH HOPSON said “Buy broom. Sorry Garrick. (You don’t do anything)”

SNEDDZY said “Garrick hot n cold”

WILF said “Broome yes Garrick no”

SIDELINESAM said “ Be good to get Garrick back, add best proven goal scorer we could afford (which won't be much)”

The real question that needs answering is ‘Can Jordon Garrick add any value to next seasons squad ?’ And if there is another one to pose is ‘Will Russell Martin actually want him ? ‘ With Morgan Whittaker and Liam Cullen also returning as attacking options, could it be all three will leave again or permanently ? More money saved in the bid to retain the likes of Joel Piroe and Flynn Downes this summer.
