Huw Jenkins insists that no matter what happens Sunday, the club's season has been a succcessful one

The Swansea City Chairman will hurt as much as anybody if the Swans do miss out on the end of season play offs come the end of Sunday but he reminded people that it will still come down as one of their highest finishes despite the obvious disappointment.

"Whatever happens this weekend, we have to remember that we will have secured our highest league finish for almost 30 years," he told the Evening Post

"As a club we have to take that on board and recognise that it is a massive achievement and a positive thing.

"Yes there will be a part of us that is disappointed considering where we were back in February, but that is football.

"As is so often pointed out, seasons take place over nine or 10 months and 40-plus games.

"Whether we get into the play-offs or not, we have got to take something out of the season," Jenkins added.

"Look at the calibre of the teams who are above us and, apart from Blackpool, look at how many years they have spent at this level or above and at the money they have spent.

"Then look at some of the teams behind us. Look at the size of some of the clubs we are going to finish ahead of and I think you have got to look at our glass as being half full, not half empty.

"Anything can happen this weekend," he said.

"It's the first time Blackpool have had the pressure of being in front, so let's see how they cope with having something to protect."
