ROBERTO MARTINEZ
"You have to be worried in that situation. The goal happened so late and that's when you see the fans' emotions. I was worried about the safety of the players but the security around the ground from the Carlisle staff was good, they did a fantastic job. "Lee Trundle, Izzy Iriekpen and Kristian O'Leary were the last three players on the pitch and got a little bit caught with the wave of people. But thankfully everything is fine. What is in our hands is to perform well against Blackpool. That's what we want and if we carry on playing the way we did today then our fans will be very proud of us. "We played well from the first minute and I felt we should have had a bigger advantage in the first half. But Carlisle threw everything at us and it was fantastic credit to the players the way we bounced back to get the winner. "It was a great situation that both teams needed to win and it was box-to-box with some fantastic moves. But I'm really pleased. To perform like that away from home in such a difficult scenario the boys made everyone very proud."
NEIL MCDONALD
'It's not sour grapes. The lad touched the ball from his chest onto his hand. 'We were fantastic in the second half, and Johann Smith took his goal really well. 'We have performed above expectations this season, and have laid a foundation for next year when we will be looking for promotion.' |
